Was last there at the beginning of last year and don't know any better economy in Passau! Price-performance ratio is absolutely understandable given the location!
Good Bavarian cuisine and good beer. Pork knuckle is highly recommended!
Worst place ever !! They can't even answer an email !!! Unfriendly without end !!!!
The restaurant offers well-crafted Bavarian cuisine, delicious beer and friendly, attentive service. Fits!
Wonderful ambience, like at the Oktoberfest! Hearty, courteous and hospitable. The house beer tastes wonderful, served in a beer stein. The duck is tender and flavorful. We recommend !!!
Incredible food! ... If someone is looking for good Bavarian cuisine with good value for money, this is the place for you! I can also recommend the house beer in the stein ???
Really hearty?? Great beer garden with great food ? There's something for everyone and it just tastes sensational ?? Price performance optimal and simply recommendable ??
I have been coming here regularly since I was studying in Passau. The service is always friendly and the food tastes great. Real beer garden enjoyment!
Yesterday I got a knuckle to take away and "jo mai, wor des a Hoxn!" At least as I can judge that as saupreusse. Fantastic. A huge Kawenzmann, with extremely tasty and lots of sauce. This is how you imagine your vacation in Bavaria.
Great Zwickel beer and delicious roast pork crust. Perfect
Super great food, had game goulash, The best of the kind I've ever eaten, a poem
Best roast pork in my life - I'm saying that again and again when I come back to Passau. KRUSTEN-SCHWEINEBRATEN! This place simply has the best roast pork
Manfred, the man with dark hair and black glasses, gave us a terrifying service experience. We sat at a crooked table + guests who arrived later were already brought the cards. Therefore we thought the service staff overlooked us. Then I approached Manfred, calmly and kindly asked him for tickets. Annoyed, he said it wouldn't work, the colleague was coming. All right so far. Then he let out his frustration and shouted angrily to his colleagues (but half the beer garden heard it): "This table wants to get its cards itself! My God! What are they thinking!" Colleague yelled back in annoyance. Generally a very uncomfortable experience. It would be appropriate that the service staff have their emotions under control. Reacting aggressively to a friendly question is under no circumstances appropriate. In addition, the pretzel tasted like it did last week.
Food, as well as price-performance ratio great. A star suit, because the waitresses seem a bit stressed and abrupt. But can be coped with, since the food and drinks were quickly at the table. Small requests were also taken into account. Instead of red cabbage there was sauerkraut without any problems and with no extra charge.
After a long cycle from Linz this place was an oasis!! Beer was neckte of the gods. Food was excellent as well.
Nice, large beer garden in the middle of Passau. We especially recommend the classic Bavarian dishes, especially the pork knuckle. Unfortunately, we had to complain about one dish, but after a brief and friendly conversation with the boss we were able to order something different. The poor staff was hopelessly overloaded when we visited and the beer garden was full.
More tourist-oriented restaurant that we wanted to try out. Beer was very tasty (Zwickl), the food was partly really good, partly very mediocre. The service was friendly and quick, it worked. Because of the service then also 4 * and not 3 *, which I think would have been more suitable for the food. The Kinderschnitzel was delicious, freshly baked and highly recommended (so it may also apply to the large schnitzel). The chanterelles and the sauce were really good too, the bread dumplings rather compact and doughy mass-produced goods. The grill plate was also really streaky. The poultry and pork loin were delicious, the bratwurst and the bacon beans were okay and the beef minute steak was unfortunately not possible because it was tough! At a price of just under € 20 for the plate, that shouldn't be the case! We wouldn't come anymore. For the price there are certainly less touristy and better quality alternatives in the area.
Nice inn with beer garden right in the center. Of course there is a lot going on. The conditions have a lot to do and, despite the hustle and bustle, they are really on their toes and friendly. The food came out pretty quick too and the knuckle was fantastic! Super crispy and a lot of meat on it.
Great food. Good portions. Good beer. Friendly service. Ambience also fits
super
Yesterday at lunchtime in the beer garden. Our waitress (responsible for the right entrance area, I think her name was Ramona) did a great job. Fast, prudent and well organized. More than fast and then still with mouth and nose protection is not possible !! THANK YOU
After reading some reviews we decided to go to this restaurant. We are transiting and wanted to eat somewhere nice. As soon as we walked in we were met with an impolite member. He simply pointed at a table for us to go sit on so we did. Waited for a menu for about 10 minutes before we decided to go very one ourselves. Tried to get someone to come over to take our order but no one would bother even though we raised our hand and made eye contact. After waiting another 15 minutes and watching other people who came after us being served we decided it was best to leave. Either they don't like foreigners or they don't like coloured people or maybe both. Never have I felt like this kind of discrimination in my life and I travel all over Europe multiple times during the year
Very good food! Not too pricy but not cheap either, Service was okay, considering it was a hot day and working must've been exhausting. But other than that I'd recommend going if you are looking for typical bavarian food and a good beer selection.
???
My boyfriend and I went there for lunch as a stop in our way to Austria and while we can't say anything about the food, the experience was disapointing. We were not greeted friendly but upfront told to put on masks and directed towards a table where we stayed 10 minutes being completely ignored by the waiters. Even after making eyecontact with a waitress and waving at her nobody came to take our order. What was a bit frustrating is that other people coming after us who were locals were attended to so we assume that maybe for tourists this is not the best place to eat. Even the menus were only in German. We walked away and never looked back.
Nice atmosphere, great beer ? and sausages!)
Top
Nice restaurant, great meals, polite waiter service.
Lovely
Shares vibes of German racism, rude staff
Delicious food!
The food was good but the service was rude?
The trotter is the best!
Great Biergarten in the center of Passau. Excellent traditional Bavarian dishes and bier. Definitely recommend sitting under the trees for a while and enjoying the atmosphere. My wife and I ate here a few times and enjoyed all of our meals. Staff is friendly, and service is great despite the place usually being packed. No real issues with language barrier, so if your German is not great, you should not have any problems.
Super
It is extremly slow, we have been waiting for 20 minutes to take the order, another 40 min waiting for the meal, which was a quite simple wirst, and when we finally wanted to cancel it, a rude lady suddenly brought the food, and said that we must pay it. The food was good by the way, but the service is chaotic.
Was a more than a few time hiere, food is not so bad, staff is horible, forinstance they serve lunch till 13:45 u come 13:15 they let you sit unatended for half an hour just with a drink then tell you that you are to late for lunch menue .... ridiculus
I'm sorry to say - Bread served with all dishes looks like this - no fantasy at all - salat plate was fine, but quality in average is not as expected at such place
Amazing food in the center of Passsu. In summer you can enjoy your meal omin the outside garden.

Very friendly, fast service. Food very tasty, cozy garden
Very friendly staff and a good beer selection. It’s located out of the old town area it seems but it’s a nice spot once you get down walking around. English menu if you ask and a nice outside beer garden. Highly recommend.
Great beer garden right in the heart of Passau. Chestnut trees, gravel soil and local specialities. Pure Bavaria.
Always amazing and authentic Bavarian food at really good prices. Service friendly and efficient.
An OK restaurant with a nice beer garden, good food and not too pricey. Lovely to sit outside under the trees. Been here a few times the last years, going through Passau, but the service and the unfriendly staff is what's making me not go back ever. I have been amazed by the lack of flexibility and customer service of a particular waiter. I can not recommend!
Ut is what it pretends to be
Guad wars
I had the turkey salad, even though the turkey tasted good the entire salad was swimming in dressing. Not every good. Service was ok. Would not return.
Very tasty, spacey.
